I am running VS 2005 and have installed the DNN 4.0.2 Starter Kit.

When I create a new skin it is directly available from the "Admin -> Skins" page as a site skin, but it is not available as a site skin for this portal under the page "Admin -> Portal settings". Why is this?  is there different kinds of Portal skins? How do I get the skin created by the starter kit to show up in the "Admin -> Portal settings" page?

Also how do I do if I want to package the new skin I have created to deploy it to another dnn site?

Your skin should be packed as a zip file that you can upload to portal via admin

If you allow portal skin upload if you log in as host.

host/hostsettings/advanced settings/other settings/ skin upload permission

then you can upload a skin via:-

admin/skins/ uncheck host and upload to the site.

Just to clarefy this part of the question regarding how to upload the new skin that the Starter kit creats when I chose to add a skin to the site.

There are files placed at different places wihin the site, which of these files should be in the zip file?  should I preserve any paths in the zip file? should I separate files for the skin from the containar? If so how?
