No, Joe is referring to this change.  It still has some kinks in it... which is why you don't see it dogfooding on www.dotnetnuke.com yet.  Yes, the intent is to make it available to everyone who would like to use it... once it is fully baked.  It's simply a new version of the Search Skin Object (\admin\skins\search.ascx).

Thanks for the feedback though, I know that Nik will appreciate it!
