Basically, I'm trying to figure out how to improve the response times for the DNN pages to load since I've been getting some reports that my customers are getting "connection timed out" error messages on their browsers. Right now, I'm running DNN v.3.2.1 with DHA Compression with the avg. page size @ 24 kb. I've run several tests on sites outside of the country and I'm getting avg. response times of 1.45 seconds, which seems to be pretty good when I compare with other DNN sites.
I'm running windows 2000 server, ms sql 2k with dual P4 2.4 GB processors, 500 mb ram, 40 GB IDE HD. It is about 18 months old. It undergoes weekly defragmentation, with a daily full AV scan during the early morning hours.
The site is hosted in house with a T1 line with average upload/download speeds of 1.5 mb/s.
I'm wondering if there is any tweaking that I could do to improve response times or stop the "connection request timed out" error messages. What can I do to configure the IIS, installation of good modules (e.g., DHAWebCompression), or any config. changes on the DNN install to improve response times altogether? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
