Hi

How do I inhibit the original default MESSAGE_REGISTRATION_INSTRUCTIONS after entering the Localized version.?

I have configured Admin¬Languages¬Language Editor Resource files and set up a new registration instructions message in the resource file named :MESSAGE_REGISTRATION_INSTRUCTIONS.Text

The problem is: The original default message referring to  now appears as well

Hope someone can help

Cheers Dave

Just a bit of clarification - did you add a new entry or overwrite the existing entry?

Hello Ian. Thenks for responding.  You asked if I Added a new entry.  Answer yes. Or overwrite the existing entry. Answer.  That's what I want to do.  The Default text is not available to overwrite or edit.  The text box is blank. T

he Default text is not fit for purpose in that it refers to asterisked required fields.  Of course there are no asterisks.  The required fields are marked by a white arrow on a red disk.

When you put in the Localised custom text, it crashes the browser window.  Then when you check, the Registration instruction text is displayed, but underneath appears the old default text as well!

David,

At first I thought you were editing the text file directly (even though you explicitly stated otherwise - sorry!) , but know I realize you're going through the interface to edit the files and i also understand what the problem is.

in the language editor navigate to \admin\Users\App_LocalResources\ManageUsers.ascx.resx and edit one of the following entries (depending on which type of membership you have specified)

Resource Name: PrivateMembership.Text
Resource Name: PublicMembership.Text (*edit* - pasted in the wrong one the first time, oops!)

i believe what you are seeing is that you added an entry for one that does not currently exist, and it appears prior to the above mentioned entry. either you could remove the entry for the privatemembership (or perhaps you have a different membership type - the entries are located next to each other in that file) - or you could just re-word the membership text.

hope that helps,

Ian

Hi Ian

Your reply is most welcome.  My Portal is 'verified' so I looked up the path to the file you referred to.  It isn't the right file.

Here is my text as seen in the [Register] screen. Just after clicking the [Register] link for a verified membership portal.

You'll see the lower note is the original default.  I want rid of that.
