Anyone notice the same problem?  I'm finally upgrading from DNN 2.0 and am noticing some big differences.

After installing DNN 4.0.2 on my server, I went to setup a second parent portal (in addition to the 'My Website' portal that comes as the default).  To do this, I logged on as the Host and used the Portal menu to create the second portal.  After being completely kicked out of the website after setting up the options to add the new portal (which was weird), I had to manually navigate back to the original localhost page in my browser to see the 'My Website' portal page.  I had to log on as the Host a second time to setup my second portal aliases.  After completing this task, I used the second URL portal alias in my browser to view the second portal.

Everything appears to show up as expected, but I never get to see the default [SOLPARTMENU] functions (Home, Guessbook, Products and Services, menus, etc.)  They just don't exist.  Even after logging on to this second portal as the new second portal's administrator, I still can't see the menu across the top.  I know that I have setup the portals and the aliases correctly after testing them on two different machines.  That's not it.

I have also tried removing the portal and re-adding it to the site using a different default template to get the same results.  I have also noticed that I also can't use the control panel functions across the top after logging in as the portal's administrator to see if that made a difference.  And, that clicking on anything else in the second portal while logged on as the portal's administrator seems to never respond and eventually timeout.

I'm noticing that I really can't use DNN 4.0.2 to manage more than the default portal.  If so, I can't seem to configure it using the web UI pages.  Anyone got any other ideas or know something I might have missed?

Thanks.

Honestly, that behavior sounds like the second portals alias is not right.  It can be hard to tell because in absense of a recognized PortalAlias, DNN doesn't know what to do and so displays the default portal.  But if you try to login, etc... there is not context for the alias and the credentials are meaningless in the default portal.

Its possible that you are using a DNS entry which correctly resolves to the location of your DNN instance, but which is NOT in fact in the PortalAlias table... can you manually check that table to see?

I just cleared 61,000 events from our event log, our site is barely usable and it's hurting our image seriously.  Can you guys put together an emergency patch, anything's gotta be better than a unusable site?
