Hi,

Is there a way to add a module to the default login page?  I want to add a text module when users click the login link so that I can instruct them of the password requirements.  Currently, users on my website are forced to change their password as soon as they first login.  They are directed to a change password page.  I'm assuming this is a standard DNN page.  I'd like to be able to add something there that lets them know how long their password must be.  How can I add text to this page to let users know how long their password must be?

Hi there,

What you do is create a new page with what you want to show on it including the Account Login control on it.  Make sure you have the Login control on the page before doing the next step.

Now go into Site Settings and set the Login page under Advanced Settings to your new page.

All done.

Thank you.  I did that and it worked out.  Now my only problem is that I would like to be able to remind users of these requirements when they are prompted to change their password.  Is it possible to add something to the change password page that can remind them?

Thanks again

You can do that by:

  • logging in
  • going to Admin / Languages
  • Select language editor
  • Search for MESSAGE_RETRIEVEPASSWORD_INSTRUCTIONS.Text on that page
  • Update the text to whatever you want.

Currently, users on my website are forced to change their password as soon as they first login.

How did you configure this?
