I'm getting an exception when I try to login as admin:

ArgumentException: Invalid value for 'encryptedTicket' parameter.] System.Web.Security.FormsAuthentication.Decrypt(String encryptedTicket) +2267987 DotNetNuke.HttpModules.DNNMembershipModule.OnAuthenticateRequest(Object s, EventArgs e) +1771 System.Web.SyncEventExecutionStep.System.Web.HttpApplication.IExecutionStep.Execute() +92 System.Web.HttpApplication.ExecuteStep(IExecutionStep step, Boolean& completedSynchronously) +64

It only happens for admin, but if I try to login afterwards with another user, it gives the same exception.  If I delete cookies and restart the browser, then I can run as another user, but not admin.  I think that it may be a password issue.  Does anyone have any suggestion?  I can still login as host.

Sunil

I would try to reset the password for the admin account when you are logged in as host.

Hello Mitch,

I reset the password from the host account, as you suggested, but I still get the same problem.  I have had to create a new tempadmin user to fulfill the admin role.  Is there a way to remove the old admin account and restore it?

Once you set a new admin you should be able to delete the current one.

I would be more concerned about WHY this one isn't working correctly.

Did you make any changes to the site recently?  Any new modules?  Any upgrades?

I've also just seen this crop up.  I'm on 4.4.1 and I haven't (personally) logged in for about 3 days.  Today was the first user reports.

I logged into the box to rar-up backups last night and funny enough the backups are working a-ok on my dev station.  Also, another 4.4.1 portal on the same box is still a-ok?

I plan no trying a quick upgrade but is there something funky going on?
