Hi there,

I've just now installed the new 03.03.00 Blog that appeared on the downloads page over the weekend and have a problem with it.

I have enable Captcha for the comments, but the Captcha image doesn't show on the page.. just a red X like hwne an image is missing. The page source indicates that it is looking for "/DesktopModules/Blog/ImageChallenge.captcha.aspx" yet that file doesn't exist in the PA.

Any ideas?

Rob

Can someone else confirm or deny this issue so that I can figure out if it needs to go in Gemini? Surely someone else has tried the new release by now?

i'll try it later tonight if i get a chance, but could you please check your web.config file and confirm that the following lines are in there

    <!-- This is for CAPTCHA support -->
      <add verb="*" path="*.captcha.aspx" type="DotNetNuke.UI.WebControls.CaptchaHandler, DotNetNuke" />

Hello Cathal

Yep, I can see it in the httphandlers section as follows:

      <!-- This is for CAPTCHA support -->
      <add verb="*" path="*.captcha.aspx" type="DotNetNuke.UI.WebControls.CaptchaHandler, DotNetNuke" />

and... yep, it's there in the other portal as well.

Should there be a file called ImageChallenge.captcha.aspx in the module folder? It's not there and not in the PA, but it is what the missing captcha image is pointing to.

no, the file is dynamically generated by the handler, so it doesn't need to physically exist. Do Captcha's work for the rest of your portal i.e. if you enable them for login, as the blogs module is using the core function. Also, can you check in your config folder and make sure the Compression.config file has ImageChallenge.captcha.aspx listed as a path in the excludedpaths node (note: if you are using any other compression software such as pageblaster you may want to check it's settings also [or disable it temporarily to test])

Cathal
