Just to make sure I'm not missing something, what's the difference between this and just pasting the analytics script at the bottom of your skin page?

You can be specific about which pages you want the module to be on. If you put it in the skin then it's everywhere. It also means you can manage it as an option in a multiportal environment. As a module it has a user-interface.

There is a large contigency of DNN users that do not create or modify skins for their portals. Having this functionality in the form of a configurable module is much more desireable.

With this module, is it possible to disable it for admin and super user account ?? This way, we do not take into account the edition of the website when working on  it.

DV,

Ed is working on that modification in the near future.  I sent him some code this morning that he can plug in to get that type of functionality fairly easily.  I am not sure of a timeline for those modifications.
