Hello,
We are writing our own Membership provider. We want to use most of the normal AspNet-Dnn combined flow/data, but save some data into an external source (and read from it). Problem is now that I do not understand how one user(name) in multiple portals is working. I can not get it to work. And I can't understand the code in the DeleteUser method: What is to be done when a user is known in multiple portals, and how is this accomplished.

Can anybody explain how this is supposed to work?

Thanks.

There is a UserPortals table (might be usersportals) that stores relationships for Users to portals. Basically within DNN if someone tries to register on another portal, assuming they use the same username and password as an already existing user, they will be added to that new portal, without creating a new user id. A new entry is added to the userportals table and then role information is created for that user in that portal.

You can actually setup a trigger to do something similiar as well, I might have one handy somewhere, I'll try to blog about it next week.

Ok, I see this happening now. I still cannot understand how the stored proc is returning the correct data with this parameters. But it works, and we don't have to change this.

Thanks, and looking forward to the blog post,

Leo.
