I'm hoping to prove DNN as an intranet solution and to this end have installed it on a desktop PC for demonstration purposes.  I would like to be able to show the single-signon feature.

When web.config is setup to connect to SQLEXPRESS it seems to access the .mdf data file directly.  Is there any way I can administer this database ?  I have spent some time trying to connect to it via SQL Server Management Studio Express with no luck.

When Windows Authentication is configured the logged in user's credentials are being passed through to the SQL Server successfully, however the user does not have access/permissions to the database.

So...I have 2 questions:

1) Is it possible to have DNN Windows Authentication on an SQL Server 2005 Express platform at all ?

2) What do I need to do to administer DotNetNuke_template.mdf (or is the DNN database in fact somewhere else entirely) ?

If it is simply the case that I have to use a pukka SQL Server 2000/2005 backend that's fine, but I'd just like to confirm that DNN Windows Authentication and 2005 SQLEXPRESS really are mutually exclusive.

Thanks in anticipation.
