Do the IIS unloading all of the dlls when you have been idle to long apply to the whole site or separately to each portal?

Sometimes when I have been active on my main site (portal 0) and go to a parent site basic.agingsafely.com it seems to take a very only time to come up.   On the main site I have done a restart, or major things like editing web.config, just editing content. I also have Open Keepalive and host-tracker pings the site.

The DLL loading and uloading is tied together in the application, so all portals will load and uload at the same time.

Another thing that happens is Just In Time (JIT) compilation.  If you have different modules on different pages then you may notice a time lag as this happens.

I keep a monitor on my home page, my store page, and my forums page for this purpose, and also to identify problems in specific modules when the site may be working, but something may still be failing internally.

John, those are some good recommendations that differ from using the keepalive.aspx page to keep the service alive.

How often do you have the individual pages polled?

Exactly how is the keepalive.aspx page supposed to be used?

I created a hidden Keepalive page DNN page so that I could keep hits from host-tracker etc. seperate from real hits for statistics purposes.

I only hit this page. Would I be better serves if I had more than just an HTML module?

John what do you mean by "I keep a monitor on" some pages?
