Insofar as testing goes, extensive testing was done into the millions of documents. Concurency testing, and performance in both adding and retreiving documents has been validated.  Add times are linear as would be expected, retrieve times increase negligibly.  Complete unit testing of every API, and complete automated tests run daily. Resource constraint conditions have also been verified such as low disk space.  (etc., etc.).  Current customer user counts are generally under a 100 so our lab testing has been beyond real world needs to date.
