Hello,

I'm new to DNN so this issue may be answered but I cannot find it by searching.  I'm getting this error when I tried testing the database connectivity:  "The user instance login flag is not supported on this version of SQL Server.  The connection will be closed."

I'm pretty much going with all defaults and using SQLExpress 2005.  Can anyone give me some advice?

Thanks,

jb

I'm not sure about this particular error message but I would suggest try setting up your database first without using integrated windows authentication and use the SQL2000/2005 settings even if it is "Express". The install wizard seems to use the Express connection string to configure anyway. This is the way I have been configuring installs and yet to have problems with it.

Good luck,

Mike

Hello Mike,

I tried what you said and everything worked.  So I'm off and running.  I appreciate you taking the time to help me out. - phillip
