Hi,

I am installing latest starter kit for DNN using VS2005 to create the project and deploy!

After running Install Wizard i set permissions, created the database structure and also created the users... after that i get an error saying:

The directory ...App_Code/HTML/ is not allowed because the application is precompiled.

Had anyone experienced this? Am i doing something wrong?

Best Regards,

Luis Simoes

Start Kit is supposed to be built right (Build website)?

When i publish what are the right options to choose?

  • Allow this precompiled site to be updatable?
  • Use fixed naming and single page assemblies?
  • Enable Strong naming on precompiled assemblies?

No one facing this problem?

Best Regards,

Luis Simoes

Yep I've got the same issue with these compile settings checked, after the wizard configures the database and "Next";

  • Allow this precompiled site to be updatable?
  • Use fixed naming and single page assemblies?

If I re-deploy with these unchecked and browse the message;

[NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.]
   DotNetNuke.Entities.Portals.PortalSettings.GetPortalSettings(Int32 TabId, PortalAliasInfo objPortalAliasInfo) +91
   DotNetNuke.Entities.Portals.PortalSettings..ctor(Int32 tabId, PortalAliasInfo objPortalAliasInfo) +83
   DotNetNuke.HttpModules.UrlRewriteModule.OnBeginRequest(Object s, EventArgs e) +4096
   System.Web.SyncEventExecutionStep.System.Web.HttpApplication.IExecutionStep.Execute() +92
   System.Web.HttpApplication.ExecuteStep(IExecutionStep step, Boolean& completedSynchronously) +64

FUBAR!

Same problem over here.

The directory '/DotNetNuke/App_Code/HTML/' is not allowed because the application is precompiled.

Thanks in Advance,

Brian
