I'd start by checking with your IIS settings

Hi christoc , thanks for the quick reply .

However , i am not quite sure to the settings that are suppose to set that can solve the problem . I had installed and created the virtual directory following all the steps provided in the installation guide and everything went successful. Please suggest to me some possible solutions :) thanks

Make sure both computername/site and localhost/site are portal aliases in DNN.  Make sure that computername resolves to the IP address of the system.  Make sure the site isn't set for Windows Authentication.  Make sure that if it is then "computername" is listed as in the intranet zone in IE.

Expounding on what Jeff said, since at this point you won't be able to access it using HTTP on anything other than the "alias" you used when installing it, if indeed it is a missing portal alias, you need to open the database and check the PortalAlias table and then ensure that whatever URL you are attempting to access it by is in the table.  However, given the "error" you are receiving, it doesn't sound like a missing portal alias, but rather, just like others mentioned, incorrect IIS settings.
