Guys,

i am new to this new stuff, and i was trying to give it a go and iam stucked with the fact there is no IIS for XP home edition

do you guys have alternative to this case ?

Yes there is a way. First you could use a hack to actually install IIS on your Home version or you can install the Cassini web server. You can find information on either version by googling for it. You can start here if you like: http://aspnet.4guysfromrolla.com/articles/082702-1.aspx

I've managed to get it all working on XP Home by using Visual Web Developer Express 2005 as it comes with it's own built web server. I do not have IIS installed at all.

thx, i did it after installing ultidev cassini webserver.

but how to create a database and connect it with my portal, ive been trying to google it but it seems all of the tutorials are for pc with IIS

you need to install free MS SQL Server 2005 Express
