Hi all,

Just discovered DNN - it's going to save me so much time - it's great!

At the moment I'm using version 4.5.3, VWD Express 2005 and SQL Express 2005. I've managed to get everything installed and running fine. First time I ran it I went through the Installation Wizard (Auto option) and then I started building my site. Everything worked fine for a few days. Now however,  when I build/run in VWD it keeps going to the Installation Wizard screens.

I can sometimes navigate to another page and then everything seems fine. Sometimes I get other meesages like login failed.

Any ideas what I haven't got right?

if you use sql express database with file based access method, make sure, not open it in VWD, otherwise your web site will not be able to access it and show up the installer.

Thanks for that Sebastian.

I didn't think I had the database open in my project - it was just included as an entry in the Solution Explorer.
However, it seems that just having the Database Explorer panel open is sufficient to stop the DNN project working.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

You must close the connection with the database before running the application.
