Not really sure about how to word this, so here it goes.

He have decided to use DNN for our Intranet site.  We have managed to get AD working ok, and have the users redirected to the windowssignon.aspx page.  INformation is pulled from AD correctly, and everything is fine as long as the user(s) is moving around in the site.

The problem we are facing is that if the person is idle for a period of time (say 20 minutes or longer.  we haven't been able to determine an exact time yet) the user is forced to a manual login page when they decide to continue working in the site.

My question is this:  How to can we force the windowssignon.aspx page to be called rather than the login.aspx page when this happens?  We don't want the users to be confused when they are presented with this screen.  We have located several aricles describing similar questions, but the solutions offered don't work.

Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.

I was going to tell you to lok in web.config at te very top of the site, for a line like:

    <anonymousIdentification enabled="true" cookieName=".ASPXANONYMOUS" cookieTimeout="100000" cookiePath="/" cookieRequireSSL="false" cookieSlidingExpiration="true" cookieProtection="None" domain="" />

But I don't see the explicit logout after 20 minutes, so I suspect it might require going to Microsoft IIS Administrator (from Control Panel | Admin Tools) & changing the site's timeout period. But it might be something else too. Others?

Thanks for the response.

I've tried several variations of a number of things, still no luck.  Not sure if anyone has ever wanted to do something like this, or maybe no one knows?

after 20 minutes (by default) the IIS session times out and, if not autologin is enabled, the user is forced to re-login. you can specify session time at IIS web site or app pool settings (not sure atm).
