Mike, I think it's in the way the particular control reacts to the "height" property. It appears that the FTB control will use the "height" property to size the 'whitespace' where you enter text, but these other editors look like they include the toolbars when calculating the "height".

To verify this, in the /DesktopModules/Repository/Settings.ascx file, you'll see the textEditor control at the top has a height property of "200", try changing it to something like "500" and see if that fixes the problem.

No argument there Steve. That screen shot is from the Upload page and with 3.1.8 you can get around it now by pushing the + button at the bottom of the editor but that didn't work with 3.1.6 so I haven't looked to see what changed on that page.

I did try your idea on the Settings page and, while it did expand enough that I could see some whitespace, you still can type in it. http://www.bus.nait.ab.ca/staff/mikeh/editor2.jpg. Of the editors I've tried, default FTB, FCK, Telerik RAD, and CuteEditor, the first two work find while the second two react the same as the screenshot. I can't remember for the Telerik version but you can get around the problem in CuteEditor by using the Basic textbox. Not an ideal fix but at least a fix of some kind.

Man I still have to get used to working with these forums.. I get so many double emails and not to the ones I've actually particpated in!! GRRR.

Sorry about not responding.  Yes Mike,  you see the error I have had, and since I didn't hear anything, I went down a different path, but will revert back when it gets rectified.

I can use the basic editor - I worked that out and thanks for letting me know and now I have checked that box at the bottom of the post that indicates YES I wish to be notified.

Any updates on this issue? I do also use CuteEditor but it does not work with the Repository module.

Where are you having a problem with it Mariette? My testing showed that it did work with 3.01.08 as per my post above.
