- Add a user as a moderator for a forum
- Update
- Try and remove the user
- Update
- Go back into the general settings for the forum
- User is still listed as a moderator!

Question: What permissions does a moderator get vs. a regular user? My impression is that a moderator should be able to not only approve posts, but to edit them and delete them regardless of the original poster.

I agree with you on the moderators and them having the ability to edit and move posts if they are the moderator of the forum it is posted in.  Moderation is one of the items we plan to review and attempt to correct immediately.

As for as removing the user and them still having the status.  I have to test if this is a caching problem or if it is the record is not being updated, but I don't think that is the case since it updates to give the person the ability the first time.  This appears to be a bug but I will have to investigate to reproduce the error.
