VB.Net 2005 -On a full compile before trying my hand on a simple module, this single error resulted:
reference to a non-shared member requires an object reference
It's reported the error for this line:
EventQueue.EventQueueController.ProcessMessages("Application_Start")

The object browser reveals it's part of:
DotNetNuke.Services.EventQueue.EventQueueController

Yet when I type in the fully qualified DotNetNuke.Services.EventQueue.   I only get intellisense
for "Equals" and "Reference Equals".  I previously compiled and have been using in
in a test site for a while.  Seems like a reference - Anyone with a suggestion?  Thanks.

Let me add to the mystery.   Now I'm getting about ten 'GetSetting' is not a member of 'Config', in addition to the above erros.  I've

seen several postings suggesting to rename release.config to web.config, but that's been done, and I still get these errors.  Appreciate

any help.

I'm having the exact same problem with the EventQueue.EventQueueController.ProcessMessages("Application_Start") in the Global.asax.vb file in VS 2005.  What caused it for me was I installed the store module on my DNN 4.5.3 website and then in my DNN solution I referenced all of the store module projects instead of the store module .dll's on the website.  Not sure why this process would cause something like this but my website worked perfect until I did this.  So far I haven't had any success on resolving the issue.

I solved the "GetSetting is not part of config" by adding

Imports DotNetNuke.Common.Utilities

to global.asax.vb. Funny since the download global.asax.vb doesn't include that imports statement.  I'm still working on the EventQueueController problem.

I am getting the same error(s) and would appreciate any help. I can get by the EventQueue.EventQueueController.ProcessMessages, Reference to a non-shared member requires an object reference error by changing the code from:

EventQueue.EventQueueController.ProcessMessages("Application_Start")

to:

Dim eq as new EventQueue.EventQueueController
eq.ProcessMessages("Application_Start")

Though, that only leads to other errors which just didn't happen in the original 4.3.4 version of DNN.

What can we do to fix this?

Thanks,
Scott
