OK. John.
I understand your point.

Can you understand your clients view? - Yes all your DNN users are your clients...

I tried to work with DNN4.5.3.
I got about 10 times exceptions and had to reinstall it.
I saw that DNN4.5.4 solve my problem.

Let me suggest something.
There are many people waiting for DNN4.5.4  and many people will wait for the next version and so on.
Can you officialy open a blog entry or a forum post and tell us what are you waiting for?
Don't tell on which date it will be released.
Just tell us what are you doing.
Gemini is not enough.

As a community member, John is not in a capacity to make an official announcement regarding the release.  He does not have any more official information that any other benefactor.

On June 24th I announced the release of 4.5.4 RC1 to the benefactor group for testing.  As always, we perform tests and make adjustments until the release is stable.  That can take 2 weeks or it can take a month or maybe longer.  You do not know until you perform the testing and get the feedback from the other people who are testing the release.  During this release cycle we have released an RC2 and are currently prepping an RC3.  Both of these were necessitated by issues discovered during testing.

RC3 is primarily a fix for some issues that were found with the SSL implementation and is expected to be a short turn-around release since there are just a dozen or so lines of code that have changed from RC2.  We anticipate that the final public release will occur by early next week.

Hi John,

Do you have a listing of the changes?  I remember last time there was this kind of thread ( hasn't been that long...), you managed to dig up a listing of the features/fixes.  I only ask since last time it seemed to be different from what was showing in the roadmap view in Gemini.

Glad to see an RC3, would rather see you guys take your time and do it right, then have to hurry to do a 4.5.5 next week.

Do you use Oracle?  Then try GoldFish.Net

Get it from CNET Download.com!

Hello Joe Brinkman,

Many thanks for your update. I really appreciate it.

Can you please update us from now until the release?

I really don't understand the official policy.
No one officially say anything about the release and we (your clients) can't read about it.
And then... we jump to RC3.
Don't forget us. We are your clients. We want to know and be part of this community.
Please update us. Don't let us guess.

Nir
