i'm curious if there's a way for a user from Group A to login and see Skin A and for a user from Group B to login and see Skin B. if there's not an already existing configuration for this somewhere that i'm just not seeing, i'm curious as to any thoughts on the easiest or most efficient way of making this happen.

the site i'm developing is currently 3.2.2, but i'm strongly considering upgrading to the latest stable 4.x version, so i'm interested in hearing ideas and thoughts for both, although i know that the skinning engine hasn't changed too incredibly much between the two implementations.

thanks in advance!

You could add custom VB or C# code to your skin that would output a different CSS class that would wrap around your skin, a custom CSS class for each role. Allowing you to have CSS in your stylesheet that loaded based on the wrapper class.

.Role1 h1

would be different than

.Role2 h1

The following link has a method to do it with the PortalAlias. http://www.snapsis.com/DotNetNuke/Support/tabid/560/forumid/12/postid/5475/view/topic/DNN-Tips-And-Tricks-5475.aspx

The code could easily be modified to work for Roles ( I have actually done the role switcher for SkinCovered.com Subscribers)
