There are times when you want to set the date and time for a Blog Entry, for example when transferring a large number of old entries from another blog.

Seems there is a bug in Blog (03.03.03) regarding the date/time for an Entry. When editing, the current date and time appears in the "Entry Date" field and you can edit it. But it does not work, beacause when updating it still picks up the date and time from the server setting so the changed date is not saved...

It is not very useful to have 150 entries on the same date just because you want to migrate to using DNN Blog...

Is this a bug that will be fixed in 03.03.04 or is it just on my installation (I am running on DNN 4.5.3) something is not working properly?

Yeah.... my Blog Module got ravaged by that 03.03 update.  All the dates were changed to the current date... and half of them got deleted.  I have had nothing but trouble with this Module.  As soon as I fix one bug it causes a new one.  I'm not upset with anyone cause I know this stuff is basically free to me so I shouldn't complain...  I'm just asking if anyone knows of a reliaible alternitive.

we had a similar problem too with this!

on our site www.profitimo.com, we create a copy of the page Articles/blogs into a new page. When the blog module was copied to the new page, it updated all blogs and changed all the child category and change the date/time of the blog.

Because of this bug, we're not able to manually change the dates.

Lookng forward to the new module update! :)

keep it up!!!

Any ETA on when the new version that fixes this bug will be out? I soon discovered that is not just moving old entries that is affected. As soon as you edit an entry to correct something or add an update to an old entry, the date is changed an it is listed as the newest entry... Not good.

It even looks like it is wrong in the RSS-feed, an old edited entry is bumped up to the top of the list as a new entry...

I am considering switching to another blog module, perhaps News Articles from Ventrian. I like the basics of the Blog module but it is impossible to use it until these date problems have been fixed.
