Very interesting.

Now, I do believe that the portal alias items are cached so possibly you will need to re-save the web.config to cause an application restart after changing the db values.

The record for the new url is associated with the correct portal?

I'm having the opposite problem. I duplicated my site files and database on my Windowx XP machine and it is redirecting to my live site. I tried messing with the portal aliases but it still does it. Can you tell me what is supposed to be in the portal aliases to run a localhost setup? Thanks!

EDIT:

Also, does DNN read the portal aliases from top to bottom and try them until one succeeds? If I put localhost first and my live site second, will it look for localhost first and if not found go to the next alias?
