Hello,

My DNN is working well, especially since I have applied the trick of MitchelSettlers.
Nevertheless, there is still one error logged into my eventviewer which is quite annoying (can happen every 2 minutes some days and hours, or every hours other days...).
The error is the following:

AssemblyVersion: -1
PortalID: -1
PortalName:
UserID: -1
UserName:
ActiveTabID: -1
ActiveTabName:
RawURL:
AbsoluteURL:
AbsoluteURLReferrer:
UserAgent:
DefaultDataProvider:
ExceptionGUID:
InnerException: Unhandled Error:
FileName:
FileLineNumber: -1
FileColumnNumber: -1
Method:
StackTrace:
Message: System.Exception: Unhandled Error: ---> System.Web.HttpException: Request timed out.--- End of inner exception stack trace ---

Does anybody have an idea ???

PS: I am using Ventrian Friendly URL + News Articles + MaxHyphenate + Apollo + PageBlaster + Locopon modules... (but the error was still there when I tried a new fresh install recently).

I think I'm seeing a similar problem.  I ran the script from Mitchel:

UPDATE DesktopModules
SET SupportedFeatures = 0
WHERE SupportedFeatures = -1

But still get this error in the portal Event Viewer:

AssemblyVersion: -1
PortalID: -1
PortalName:
UserID: -1
UserName:
ActiveTabID: -1
ActiveTabName:
RawURL:
AbsoluteURL:
AbsoluteURLReferrer:
UserAgent:
DefaultDataProvider:
ExceptionGUID:
InnerException: Value cannot be null. Parameter name: type
FileName:
FileLineNumber: -1
FileColumnNumber: -1
Method:
StackTrace:

Parameter name: type at System.Activator.CreateInstance(Type type, Boolean nonPublic) at DotNetNuke.Framework.Reflection.CreateObject(String TypeName, String CacheKey) at DotNetNuke.Services.Search.ModuleIndexer.GetModuleList(Int32 PortalID)

I fixed my time outs by changing my config, hope it helps you.

Thanks for the info. Could you please confirm that I should replace in my webconfig the line:

  <httpRuntime  useFullyQualifiedRedirectUrl="true" maxRequestLength="8192" requestLengthDiskThreshold="8192" />
With:
<httpRuntime  useFullyQualifiedRedirectUrl="true" maxRequestLength="8192" requestLengthDiskThreshold="8192" executionTimeout="500" />

Correct ??

Please keep in mind that I am not a programmer , I am a project manager.

Yes, that looks correct, dont, if you edit the webconfig with the site open in your browser, dont forget to go into host settings and click on restart application, before testing the fix.   Also, it is a good practice to make a copy of your current webconfig before makeing changes.  That way if somthing goes wrong all you have to do is deltet the bad one rename your copy back , and your good to go.

Good Luck.

Oh and
