I have the same exact issue when I try to install from the "source" package.  I'm using Vista/64 IIS 7

But I did get the "install" package to work.  although, ideally I would like the source package to work correctly.

Anyone have any idea's?

Ensure that you have an application setting for "UseWizard"

Also just since you are on IIS 7, ensure that you are running in a classic application pool and that you have given full file permissions to the NetworkService account.

That did it!

Changing the Application Pool from "DefaultAppPool" to "Classic .NET AppPool" did the trick.

I couldn't find that solution anywhere, thank you.

Mike,

Glad that got you going.  I had the same problem the first time I setup DNN on my Vista machine.
