Then I am unaware of a way to do what you want.  My suggestion would require re-coding the settings/content management for these modules.

Well, on second thought if the modules support importing exporting content, maybe you can get close to what you want -

Export the content for each template module.

Create the new tab w/o copying content

Then individually import the content for each module.
