I am working on a custom module and would like the ability to have the module remember what settings the user has selected.  I figured custom profile properties would be the best way.  After reading the documentation on Custom Profile Provider, I'm still having a hard time figuring out how to implement these properties.  Maybe my problem is that I haven't been able to save the custom properties after I've created them.  Is there any sample code that will show me how to implement these properties?  Or, if I'm going in the wrong direction and there's a better way I should be handling my module's memory, I'm open for suggestions.

To extract / set custom profile information, you can use:

UserInfo.Profile.GetPropertyValue(Name)

and

UserInfo.Profile.SetPropertyValue(Name, Value)

Hmm, is there a save method I'm missing?  While debugging, I set a breakpoint right after

UserInfo.Profile.SetProfileProperty("MyProperty")

and I type UserInfo.Profile.GetPropertyValue("MyProperty") in the Immediate window and it returns an empty string.  I've also tried using the UserInfo.Profile.ProfileProperties, which seems to work right after I save the property value, but the next time I post back and try to retrieve the value, it is null.

Any thoughts?

OK, scratch that.  Using UserInfo.Profile.ProfileProperties started working, but the custom properties don't seem to be persisting across sessions.  When I close the browser and start up the app again, the settings are missing.
