When I first created the new database on the new host, I used some temp information (temporary username and password). I had the .bak restored to the new database and all is well.

The first time I tried to browse the site, I see:

DotNetNuke Error: - Version 04.05.03

Login failed for user 'terp'.

That's it. I changed the web.config to incorporate the new connection strings. I thought that it might be related to the new user name and password for the new database, so I changed the userid and password to what it was before.  Same result.

What are some things I can check to see what's causing this error? I am going to check the db one more time and try to login and check the tables using the userid and password I changed in the connection string. Other than that, though, I am lost.  :)

Just to follow-up, they are using the Plesk 7.5.6 control panel; therefore, I went to 'DBWebAdmin', assuming this would lead me to the enterprise manager, and I get an application error...while it tries to hit the following URL:

http://mssql.mydomainname.com/mssql/app/connect.aspx

So perhaps the database is not setup properly?

Terp,

It appears that the restore of you database might not have gone as planned.  Submit a critical support ticket to them and they will get it fixed right away.
