Hi all,

I have a problem installing DNN 4.5.3 on my Server.

The error I get is: The entry 'SiteSqlServer' has already been added. Although I let the installwizard modify the file.

Has anyone else had this problem and how do I get around it?

Thanks in advance.

Lee,

manually check the connection strings inside the web.config file, make sure, there is only one in the "connectionStrings" sections and one key 'SiteSqlServer' inside the "appSettings" section, both with the same value.

Hi leupold,

thanks for the quick answer, below is the code from the web.config:

</configSections>
  <connectionStrings>
    <!-- Connection String for SQL Server 2005 Express -->
    <add name="SiteSqlServer" connectionString="Data Source=myServer;Initial Catalog=dotnetnuke;User ID=**********;Password=********" providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" />
  </connectionStrings>
  <appSettings>
    <!-- Connection String for SQL Server 2005 Express - kept for backwards compatability - legacy modules   -->
    <add key="SiteSqlServer" value="Data Source=myServer;Initial Catalog=dotnetnuke;User ID=**********;Password=********" />

    <add key="InstallTemplate" value="DotNetNuke.install.config" />

I ran the wizard and that edited the connection string for me. I also tried setting it manualy before with the same results, that's why I decided to let the wizard do it for me, but no change in the problem.

Thanks, that was it, I had copied a web.config into the wwwroot directory to refer to some of the settings and forgot about it.
