Hello All,

Heres the situation I needed to create a module that does the same thing as the reports module only on a different database.  So I went into the SQLDATAPROVIDER class and changed the connection string, and I am able to run querys on my database fine.  However I have one more issue that I need sugestions on.  I have the need to run querys based on the user that is currently logged in.   In short I need to be able to inform the currently logged in user of equipment assigned to them.

I have a field in my database called NameID which is the Username of the person that will be logged in to our dnn portal, and is a string value.

However the reports module onlt defines @UserID @ModuleID @PortalID and @TabID which all return interger values

What would be the best way to go about doing this?

Thanks Mike

I just wanted everyone to know that I have resolved this issue.  in case anyone is curious I set up a SQL DataSource in my view.ascx file, and set up Select Command string as follows

Select [Atributes]

From TableName

I then went into my view.ascx.vb file and in the page load event handler I grabbed my Sellect Command and appended to the end of it where [attribute from table] = UserInfo.UserID

That fixed the problem

Mike
