Skin/Container Help

I have been using dnn on godadys share hosting site (this means I have no access to any of the files/directories etc). So I by mistake installed a skin into a container. This means I can not access/edit/change any info/settings. The website I am using is http://www.gatehouseministries.org/home The problem is the only way Godaddy says I can fix it is by doing a clean install of the software. The problem with this is that I lose all my information. Is there a way for me to at least get the connection string to connect and copy the database information? Godaddy will not give me any of that information.

This means I have to start the site from scratch. There is no way for me to get all the information.

Thank you

Did you upload the container as Host or as Admin? The difference is whether it went to \Portals\_default\containers or \Portals\x\containers.  You really should be able to reach those directories in the file manager and simply delete them.  The Host ( or Portal ) default settings will then kick in which will likely give you the DNN Blue container.  But you can then go and change the container settings.

There should be no need for you to redo the install... the only thing wrong is the bad container which should be easily fixed.  Alternatively, simly ask tech support to delete the offending container directory.

You might also have a look at this blog by Joe Brinkman, where he outlines a little trick with the ICONBAR that may help you supress the problem so you can change the continer: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Blogs/tabid/825/EntryID/297/Default.aspx
