Mals001, let us know how you get on with TransactionScope() (in System.Transactions).  I can't see why this would not work with DAL+

I have been using TransactionScope in my DAL+ layer.  All works OK until I started using a SQL Server box through our ISP.  This is a shared/managed SQL Server box.  This may be an unusual occurance, but I'm documenting this in case anyone else hits this.

Each developer develops on their laptop and VPNs onto the shared SQL Server box. (Distributed development so people can work from home).  Please note you may hit the error:

"The partner transaction manager has disabled its support for remote/network transactions."

And this is either because the SQL Server isn't configured correctly, or the VPN does not have the DTC ports open.  The latter is more likely.

This is a shame for us, as having people share the same SQL box while developing the .Net code locally was working well....
