I've been working with a couple of little test modules, doing some research to see what kind of functionality I'll be able to implement in an upcoming project.  The inter-module communication is going to be pretty much required, and AJAX support is strongly desired in it as well.  In the process of this research, I've run in to a problem between the two.  I created a sending module and listening module to learn how it worked, and was able to get it working where a button click in the sending module would cause so logic to fire and display in the listening module.  However, when I implemented the partial rendering option on both of them with Microsoft's AJAX provider installed, the communication will no longer happen.  The sending module never shows any change.  Does anyone have any suggestions on where I could look to see if something is wrong, or do the two functionalities just not work together?  Thanks!

I have good news and bad news:

The good news is that the two are compatible.

The bad news is I don't know enough to really help.

I have experimented with it and got it to work. I did not not use the DNN partial rendering option.  I only put the update panels in select areas within the module.  I could be wrong here, but I seem to remember that the posting command couldn't be in an update panel.  You might try turning off the partial rendering on the module that sends the message and see what you get.
