John,

Sorry did not mean to implying that you had posted the URL as a security flaw in this thread.  The mention of the fact that DNN informtion was removed from the title bar by default due to many commnity members not liking the fact that it made it easy to find the DNN hosted site and the version number it was running just made me post a comment before thinking it through (quite a few saw this as a security flaw).  I just wanted other who read the thread to know that if they thought something like this was a security issue that they should report it to the security team.  I actaully agree that this is not a security thread and security by obscurity is wothless.  Next time I will re-read my post before committing to make sure it gets the right message across.

Thanks for following up Shawn.

Here's another good one:

http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rlz=1T4GGIH_en___US207&q=%22DotNetNuke+Configuration+Error%22

21,600 -- It's amazing how many of these are still out there.  I did code changes to the way PortalAlias works in DNN over two years ago to remove that problem.

I was able to remove the base reference, but I still have the .../default.aspx being displayed.  Given that my logo is wired into the skin, I am stuck with the the default reference, right? Too bad it wouldn't redirect based on the site alias rather than the default....would be much cleaner for the Googlization.  :)

Terp,

You can remove the default.aspx part too.

Thanks for reminding me to check, the number of sites with this tag is now up to 14,800 in Google's index.

Ahh, nice.  So it should look like this?:

hypLogo.NavigateUrl GetPortalDomainName(PortalSettings.PortalAlias.HTTPAlias, Request)

I'll backup the file and give it a go...
