I've been struggling with this for the past couple of days...so I'm hoping someone can offer some insight.

I've purchased the Advanced Announcements module from Snowcovered which replaces the default Announcements module.  I'd like to make both modules available.

What I'm trying to do is modify the default DNN Announcements module to become "Basic Announcements."  I've downloaded the source code and have attempted to change every reference of "Announcements" to "BasicAnnouncements" with little success.

I think part of my question is in regards to the DLL files that are included in the Announcements SRC.  How would I modify those?  Or do I simply remove those?

PS.  I'm using VWD Express.  I don't have Visual Studio, but could get one of our programmers at work to get into that if necessary.

You need vs2003 to modify source of the core announcement module, as it is still a asp.net 1.1 version. I dont really follow why you would want to rename everything. Why not just renaming the module's Friendly Name. If you bought a module that is really replacing the core module that would be considered a core modification and not really something that is worth your while. Please contact the developer of your advanced announcement module and request a version that can coexcist with the core module
