This is caused by this:

you have the leftpane set to 175px, the center to 100% end the right also to 175px.

100% +175 +175 > 100% that's why you get these strange results.

Just use a pixel size for the central contentpane and it should be solved...

Thanks Timo.

That sounds right, but as a newbie, I don't know where to go to change these.  I would expect to find them in the CSS, so I looked at

ftp <portal home> /Portals/0/   for the first portal defined.

there's a portal.css   and a pactportal.css   but neither has the 175px, 100%, 175px.

Where do I go?

THANKS.

(and I'm still geting errors when I try to insert an image in the response.)

Okay, I thought you changed this yourself, but I see now it's the default DNN skin that has this error..

The definitions are here: /Portals/_default/Skins/DNN-Blue/skin.css

.leftpane {

width: 175px;
background-color: transparent;
padding-left: 6px;
padding-right: 4px;
padding-top: 6px;
}
.contentpane {
 width: 100%;
background-color: transparent;
 padding-left: 6px;
padding-right: 4px;
padding-top: 6px;
}
.rightpane {
 width: 175px;
 background-color: transparent;
 padding-left: 6px;
 padding-right: 4px;
 padding-top: 6px;

}

btw I cannot add images either..
