For a large prospective customer, I am looking for some ballpark figures on performance. We're planning on using dedicated webserver (HT 3.0Ghz, 2GB RAM, 10k SATA disks) and a dedicated database server (2 XEON 3.0, 2 GB RAM, 150Gb RAID 10).

We're looking at a site that will have from 100k to 600 k pages views per day. We can probably cache pages for 10 minutes, since it needs to stay current with news that is flowing constantly.

Does anyone have any experience with this? What can DNN accomplish? How many concurrent connections, users, throughput. Any suggestions on pitfalls and other recommendations are highly appreciated!

René

The numbers of pages are in the same ball-park as this site receives, and your proposed configuration is similar.  Having said that you might want to consider two webheads, if your site is likely to be at the top end of the quoted range - dnn  does support WebFarms.
