Hey I'm trying to install DNN 4.5.5 on my Vista Machine in IIS.

I've set up a new website running on port 8008.  I've copied the contents of the Install package to the virtual directory. When I point my web browser to http://localhost:8008/ I get the following error:

I figured it out... here's how i fixed it...

  1. In my c:\webdocs\FBC Deerfield\ directory (virutal host home directory), I added an Application via IIS in the subdirectory portal.
  2. I then copied all the DNN files from c:\webdocs\FBC Deerfield\ to c:\webdocs\FBC Deerfield\portal application directory
  3. Then, in IIS, I clicked on the advanced settings for the application directory and changed the Application Pool from "DefaultAppPool" to "ASP.NET V2.0".
  4. This solved the problem...

The probled is that "DefaultAppPool's" Pipeline mode is "Integrated."  It seems that DNN requires the "Classic" Pipeline mode which is the mode that "ASP.NET V2.0" runs in.

I hope this helps those who may encounter the same problem.

Blessings,
Joshua
