Hi,

I recently started to use DNN for updating my existing site. I started to write some custom modules in DNN but what to do with existing logins in my site? I want to use single login system for entire site (inclusive DNN forums/blogs modules) but my existing site is not so rich for membership and roles. Please suggest some way out how do I integrate.

Regards

Integrating DNN with an existing site is a pretty complex - possibly impossible in some circumstances - task.

Since DNN is a core framework - your best option is to move your existing site across to support the framework.
Possibly using IFRAME modules to bring in stray page elements.

Hello wtatters,

Thanks for your response as I really need it. Can you please suggest me how can I transfer my existing users (around 50,000) into DNN. I just want to write some code by which I can migrate all the users into DNN DB; If its not possible then its really a hard time for me. How I will let my users to access updated site.

    Please help.

Ritesh,

Did you ever solve your problem of getting users migrated?

Check out the custom SSO module from http://opensource.indyneinc.com/home/DevX/Articles/SingleSignOn/tabid/99/Default.aspx.   Your users can login the DotNetNuke using the account in external database.  The module also has option to import users into DNN.
