Hi!

I've read all the forums and blogs I can find, but didn't get any wiser. How does it work when I need my portal in three languages? (English, Arabic and Kurdish)

I know we have to create and translate everything for the Kurdish part, but I have downloaded the Arabic language pack and installed it. It now translates the date and login into arabic - but ow about the rest? I, of course, need all the content in three languages as well! I checked out Apollo after recommendations from this site, but still don't get it.

What do I have to do to be able to get content in three langugages? Where do I translate the content, and do I have to download another set of modules for the other languages - or what?

Please help me out!

Cheers! /linda

To my knowledge all multi language capable modules (like the ones you can download for free from my site) have some kind of language selection inside the module, which let you select for which language you want to edit your content. The modules then decide what content to display based on the language selection made by the visitor of your site. So you just need one module to display content for all the different languages you want to display on your page.

Of course there is a down side to all of this. As dynamic localization is not built into the DNN core, not all ML modules work the same, so if you want to use modules from different developers, you have to accept that. Further more, you might need a module that is not available in a multi language version.... if so, you will have to use some tricks to make it work. (Locopons localizer module can hide modules per language for you, my PageLocalization can hide pages based on language... )

HTH

Cheers,

Erik
