I am getting this error as well. It's pretty bad as no one can regsiter properly.

If you search for the phrase a lot of sites seem to be experienceing it.

Any one got any ideas ?

The issue is happening when the notifcation mail is send to the administrator when a new user is created.

When the email template is being populated with the user information the error is being thrown.

A workaround is to change the new user email template so no user information is populated. I just send a user created email.

It didn't fix the problem but at least users can not register

I an not aware, that this was a general issue in DNN 4.5.5, which registration type did you choose in site settings?
