I have just insalled DNN 04.05.05 and it's all working great. However, I have a page which I want to be edittable by everyone - any visitor to the site. I have set the edit permssions on the page to give edit access to everyone.

But now when I browse to the page when not logged in, I get the view/edit radio buttons but when I select edit the page refreshes and view is selected again. So users cannot actually edit the page.

Is this a bug or a feature?

Thnaks.

granting edit permission for the page grants access to module settings and position. If your  visitors shall only be able to edit module content, grant edit permission in module settings!

Thanks for the feedback,

I actually want a section of the site where anyone can create a new page and put content on it. However, giving edit access to a page to all users allows them to add modules to the page but not edit them. Modules don't seem to inherit edit permissions from the page... I guess that is the root of the problem. It seems that if a registered user has edit access to a page and adds a module they are able to edit it. I don't understand why there is a difference.

Is there any way I can log all visitors in as a specific user? I have looked at some of the source code but I need to step through it with the debugger to see what's going on, but I can't get the debugger working in the source solution....

This line looks promising, but I don't know what LoginStatus is. Has anyone done this before?

Dim objUser As UserInfo = UserController.ValidateUser(PortalId, "userX", "password", "password", PortalSettings.PortalName, "Some IP", LoginStatus)

all visitors are regarded as anonymous users, as ling as they are not logged in. What do you try to attempt?
