Currently I have modules that are packaged into PA's, but they seem to still have the .vb file included.
It is almost like I am running PA's that have source included.

I am currently zipping all files and uploading normally.
How can I get the .vb file to be behind the .ascx file, so it is a truly compiled PA?

Feedback Appreciated,

Machina,

If you have the compiled .dll file in your install package simply remove the .vb files.  You will need to remove them both from the install zip AND from the .dnn file so that you do not get errors.

This is a very nicely written tutorial for creating WAP modules, which are modules that compiled and deployed as PAs: http://www.netqconsulting.com/Tutorials/DNNWebApplicationProject/tabid/126/Default.aspx

Perhaps I am not compiling correctly, or at all. I know this because I do not have a .dll file generated.
When loading a module I simply zip up all files, and upload normally.
It seems that compiling will generate the .dll file i need, so I can get rid of .vb files and .vb code in .dnn file.

When it comes to compiling, can I compile using Visual Web Developer? or what free compiler program will work?
Can't find compile commands within Visual Web Developer.

Basically what are the need to know steps for compiling, creating the .dll file, so I can delete .vb and edit out .vb's within .dnn file?

Feedback Appreciated,

As the tutorial indicates you need Visual Studio and WAP, you can not use VWD.
