My web.config contains...

 <add
      name="SiteSqlServer"
      connectionString="Data Source=.\SQLExpress;Integrated Security=True;User Instance=False;AttachDBFilename=|DataDirectory|Database.mdf;"
      providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" />

I also changed the info in the <appsettings> code to False

I still get the "This site is currently Unavailable" and the warning & error msgs in event viewer.

Do you have Vista? Make sure you give NWTWORK SERVICE read and write permission to the entire DNN directory and sub directories.

I'm running XP Pro with all patches/updates. I gave Network Service Full control over the folder and still get the same errors.

I finally got frustrated enough to give up. It wasn't worth all the trouble of trying to decipher the problem.

Thanks for your assistance.

OK, I'm back!

I  decided to give module development "1" more chance! This time I did the development using the non-IIS procedures and the SUper fast super easy DAL+. This works fine so I'm up and running.

So I'm trying to understand the logic of the code and have a question about  <asp:LinkButton ID="InsertButton" runat="server" CausesValidation="True" CommandName="Insert" Text="Insert" OnClick="InsertButton_Click"></asp:LinkButton> . I don't understand where the tie-in is that inserts the record into the DB. I see the 'OnClick' code but all it does is turn formview1 visible to false and changes the text of another link button. I'm thinking that because the linkbutton is inside the FormView1 InsertItemTemplate that this causes the ObjectDataSource InsertMethod to handle the insert. Am I way off on this?

Thanks

You MUST run up your website at least once - before you start development work.

The DesktopModules folder is not created till the DNN installer script runs and populates the DesktopModule folder with the default TEXT and LINKS modules.
