using: dnn version 4.5.5

Hello,

I have created a skin that looks something like this:

<div id="ControlPanel" runat="server" class="controlpanelDiv" align="center" ></div>

<div class="siteDiv" id="sitePane"  runat="server">
    <div class="contentpaneDiv" id="ContentPane" runat="server" align="center" ></div>
    <div class="rightpaneDiv"  id="RightPane" runat="server" align="center" ></div>
   etc...
</div>

If I use this skin I have a problem with adding modules to panes. I can only choose the sitePane for adding a module, but all other panes inside the sitePane div are not available for selection. They are avalaible as soon as you take them outside the sitePane div, but this is not what I want. The reason is that I like to have the sitePane div positioned relative, where the other div's are positioned absolute. In this way the Controlpanel works in the right way.

Beside from this problem, the skin works fine. Has anyone a suggestion? (At this moment I am forced to switch skin for adding modules and than put my skin back. This is not realy a solution)

Thanks in advance for your help.

Peter

You cannot have a pane in a pane. But I like your work around ;)

Why do you need to have the control panel inside your skin, I know it is in the default skin but it doesn't need to be. Just remove the complete line:

<div id="ControlPanel" runat="server" class="controlpanelDiv" align="center" ></div>

from your skin file and take the right and contentpane out of the sitediv pane and see what happens. As an alternative you could also remove the runat server in the sitediv.

If you take ControlPanel out, how are you going to add modules to the page using that skin?

Thanks a lot, Peter. Removing  ' runat="server" ' completely solved the problem as did removing the controlpanel div. I think I just stick by removing the runat="server" thing .

As reply to vitkoz: though the ControlPanel div was removed, the control panel shows anyway. So there is no problem adding modules.

best regards,

Peter

Aha! Got it. But, in this case, I am not sure I understand the point of even having it in the first place...
