Quick question: What are the requirements for installing dotnetnuke? E.g., do I need to buy Visual Studio, or can I get by with the Express editions of SQL and Visual Web Developer? Thanks!

You require VS Web Express ONLY if you want create modules! Note that VS Web Express can create ONLY WSP modules. You can read my explanation about programming models in this post.For installing dnn as a local test server, you require at the minimum XP Pro, SQL Server Express (free edition).
