Hello,

I am planning for a DNN portal for a web newspaper. I am trying to figure out a way to import about 7000 articles into a DNN portal. The articles are stored in a SQL database and have the following format:

  • title
  • preamble
  • text of the article
  • metadata (article categories and so on)
  • Each article belongs to one issue of the articles
  • There are internal links between the articles/issues (errata, addons published in later issues etc.)

The idea is to mass import the articles into the portal so that:

  • A new page is created for each article
  • Each page is placed under the corresponding issue
  • Two text modules are created on each page: the first one contains the title and the preamble, the second one - the actual contents of the article.
  • Categories of the page must somehow be stored as page metadata

Is there any way to accompish that? How can I define additional metadat for pages?

Thank you for your time in advance.

Best regards,

/Ed
